BCMS Drama and Choral News

We are approaching the dates of our 6, 7, and 8 grade performances of "Over The Moon".

These will be performed in the HIGH school Auditorium.

6th grade will be Thursday May 10th at 9 am.

7th and 8th grade combined will be Friday May 11th at 9am.

Performances are FREE

The theme of the show centers around fairy tales.  Students were asked to dress as their character would dress.  However, I would like to stress that it is more important that your child attend the performances than worry about obtaining a costume.  Everyday school attire will also work.  Students tried out for parts and were assigned them during March.  They were told to have them memorized by the end of this week or risk losing their part.

We will go over to the high school hopefully twice to practice on stage prior to the actual performances.  These practices will be during school in the morning hours.  Therefore if your child has an appointment on the morning that we are at the high school, you may have to pick them up there.  The number to the highs chool is 934-6258.

Thank You for your support,

Kelli J Greer

On Wednesday, March 14, the Bleckley County Middle School Baron Baseball team experienced school in a different way. We had the privilege of visiting theGeorgiaAcademyfor the Blind. One of the Barons managers, Austin Rogers, is a student there.

When we arrived, we were given a tour by Austin and one of his teachers. The teachers use amazing technology to teach the same standards that our teachers teach. After the tour, we were able to play a game of kickball with some of the students. It was interesting how they use their amazing sense of touching and hearing to do the things that we use our eyes to do. Once the game was over, we ate lunch with the students and were able to get to know them better.

The team had an awesome experience and appreciates the opportunity to visit Austin’s home turf. We appreciate the Georgia Academy of the Blind for allowing us to visit.
